Mars, Venus and The Gender Lens™

Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus is being made into a movie! I kid you not. You can read about it here.
"Summit Entertainment acquired the rights to turn Gray's book into a film and TV franchise, which will be produced by Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun (no, not the 'Seinfeld' guy) and their BermanBraun production company."
Why should I care? Because I've been writing about the fact that since the 70s the gender lens has been basically missing from popular culture - except in stories that proclaim that it's no longer needed. For example the Economist's misleading "We Did It" cover story.

My hope is that the movie will generate meaningful discussion about gender differences (yes, I know it will require some stereotyping) without any "feminazi" or "male chauvinist pig" overtones. That people will use the gender lens to take action to reduce the patterns of decision-making that have helped women make progress in getting to the middle, but continue to keep the path to the top a challenge.
